Thirteen children were born to Abraham and Maria Loewen. One died in infancy (Isaac), one at the age of 9 (Daniel), and a third, Johann, at the age of 22, of typhoid, in Russia. Son Jacob, chose not to join his parents in 1926, and consequently, remained in the USSR, living out his entire life there, to the age of 99. Nine made the journey to Canada with their parents in 1926. Abraham and Maria Loewen’s direct descendants number 309 today (2023).
In this section, I have provided a brief overview of each family member’s life journey since 1926. These brief summaries have been provided by family members, with the exception of Lena and Tina, whose life stories were written by me.
If one were to count all direct descendants, including spouses, of Isaac Loewen (1735-1783), the total count would be approximately 55,000.
